Leah Stephens on Finishing 43rd at NCAA XC Nationals as a true freshman, Ocean lifeguarding and more

Today on the Running In Circles podcast I’m joined by Leah Stephens! Leah is a Sophmore at NC State where she runs cross country and track. Last year she became an All-ACC Runner after finishing 8th in the conference 6k and then went on to finish 43rd at the NCAA Cross country Championship as a true freshman, which helped secure NC state’s 3rd straight women’s cross country team title. She got injured with a stress fracture during the outdoor track season so she’s currently getting back into some longer runs and is looking forward to seeing what she and the team can do this season. Throughout the episode we discuss her summer life guarding job, her initial reaction to getting injured, how recovery went, how to have a good transition from high school to college cross and more.
