The club started with 10 members and has since grown to 29.Our bylaws and operating procedures were created and limit the club to 35 total members. The club meets once a month, normally on the third Saturday. WMIC club members are residents of the states of Maryland and Virginia and the city of Washington, D.C. Many of the club members are either veterans of the military or employees of the Federal Government. Also, many of the members attend the same church. As you can tell, the club is a very close-knit group.WMIC is currently a $1 million-plus investment club, with a current portfolio of 29 stocks and two mutual funds. For the past couple of years, our portfolio has averaged on an annual basis, $20,000 in dividends. Of course, these dividends are reinvested as part of the club’s long-term investment strategy.WMIC has been a long-standing member of BetterInvesting and been featured in the Washington Post, NBC Business News, the Potomac News (local newspaper), and of course, BetterInvesting.
