Learn how The Man That Rescues Dogs Foundation is changing street life in Thailand. Should we convince, bribe or enforce rules to get dogs to learn right from wrong behavior?

from Dog Training DisrUPted · host Billie Groom with The Man That Rescues Dogs Foundation

Michael Baines, founder of The Man That Rescues Dogs Foundation, knows how to run a dog rescue and devotes his life to it.  Located in Thailand, TMTRD Foundation has made a huge impact on the local community because of Michael's straight-forward, honest and charismatic approach. This interview is full of surprises - especially the answer to the infamous Tail-End question!https://www.facebook.com/tmtrdorg/https://www.instagram.com/themanthatrescuesdogs/paypal.me/tmtrdThis engaging interview is followed by the always controversial topic of treats and praise. I share what I learned from working with rescued dogs; as much as we want to praise and treat them into doing the "right" behaviour, or "force an issue" by enforcing rules, or rushing to the end goal, we need to work with these dogs in a way that makes sense to them - remember, they are alive because they know how to process and think with the cognitive side of their brain. Season 5 is a "Dogology" (kinda like a mixology) of tips, Q and A's, interviews, discussions and a deeper look into the 3 components of UPWARD Dogology all with the goal of increasing awareness and making the world a better place for all animals, including humans! Season 4 is interviews with people and organizations that help animals. Increase your awareness and be part of the solution by listening, sharing, and reviewing.  Season 3 dives deep into trending methods. Are they right for you and your dog? Season 2 shares the learning journey of my clients with dogs with different issues and backgrounds; always interesting and a great way to feel a connections with others who have similar experiences. Season 1 starts by sharing my unique learning journey to explain how I know what I know. This is followed by a change in mindset - in the human!  This is followed by an explanation of the differences between Conditioning Methods and that of CBT, followed by a deeper look into Dog Cognition, the  principles of CBT in relation to dogs and dog training, and the need to include positive and beneficial  approaches into mainstream dog training. Upward Dogology has a change in music! Danielle Bourjeaurd is a 2017 CCMA (Canadian Country Music Awards) winner (Discovery Artist) and is making a splash in the country music fanclub. She lived in Nashville for 8 years where she volunteered for Pitties-in-Pink and is a huge dog lover!
