Send us Fan MailI love the story of Josef Szajna, a designer and famous director of theatre in Poland during World War II. He was imprisoned in the concentration camps of Auschwitz and Buchenwald. He survived. But while in the concentration camps, he was confined to a "standing cell," 4 feet by 4 feet, made of cement block with no windows, and a ceiling open to the sky. During the long sleepless nights, Szajna used those hours to grow in his skills as a designer. He stood in the cold, crowded cell, and used his imagination to make works of art while looking up into the sky. He said that his passion and belief in himself saved his sanity and his life.We all have the potential to transform a miserable or lonely time in our lives with our imagination, understanding, and belief in ourselves, and our desire to live a meaningful life in spite of our circumstances. Thanks for listening.
