Learning living & happiness with Professor Heidi Lourens

Heidi Lourens is a Counselling Psychologist and Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa. She lost most of her sight as an infant due to a rare childhood eye cancer, retinoblastoma. After attending a school for the blind, she went on to study at Stellenbosch University, where she completed her master’s degree in Counselling Psychology in 2009 and her doctorate in 2015. Heidi lives in South Africa with her black guide dog, Upton, and three cats.
