Leave it to Beavers

Healthy meadows are wet, spongy and teeming with diversity; but too many lack that swampy hospitality due to the eradication of beavers. Now, crews are recreating beaver dams to encourage complex, healthy meadows. With luck, a passing beaver might see the dams and the pooling water they love and think, "This is nice … but I could do better."
