Leave The Nets | October 18, 2026

from The EDGE Student Ministry Hosted by Kingdom: A Community Church

This week at EDGE, guest speaker Kyle Majnarič — a former WVU wide receiver turned Nashville singer-songwriter — brings a message called "Leave the Nets," born out of a trip to the Sea of Galilee where Jesus first called His disciples. Walking through Matthew 4, Luke 5, and John 21, Kyle shows students the two times Peter left his nets: once when Jesus called him, and again after the resurrection, when Peter had slipped back into old habits and Jesus met him right where he was. He challenges students to name both kinds of nets in their own lives — the ones we cast ourselves (pride, performance, identity built on achievement) and the ones that get cast on us (idolatry, addiction, anxiety, guilt and shame) — and reminds them that Jesus never needed full nets to call anyone, because faithfulness comes before fruitfulness. The night closes with an original song Kyle wrote around the message. For more information on EDGE Student Ministries, please visit www.edgestudents.org.
