Leave your Cave

Vijay begins a new series of sermons, based on the life of Gideon, titled 'Living a Life that Matters'. He looks, this morning, at the call and commission of Gideon. Like the Israelites living in Gideon's time, we live in caves of fear or complacence, unwilling to step out into the extraordinary lives God wants for us. To begin living a life that truly matters we have to dare and step out of our caves by crying out to the Lord. He intervenes by offering us his presence and perspective, before he commissions us. Our adequacy for a life that truly matters comes not because we miraculously become more talented or resourceful, but because of the Lord who commissions us into action.
