Yeah, I I Shared my worry and anxiety my pre-travel anxiety with Lou before like the day before and I said listen I'm Struggling with I think we were traveling we were sharing the travel anxiety about this day pretty much before the trip even started Well, that's gonna be oh quite a day. They're hard to worry I like to start worrying about travel days as far in advance as possible weeks in advance same Mm-hmm. This was more of like the heightened Moment of anxiety about it where I was like calling you you were down in San Diego and I was like So I had to get Izzy and myself and our rental car this pretty badass Pacifica It was great. I don't know go with that but I called you and I was like listen I'm feeling worried because once I arrived at six car rental facility I was also not just bringing myself and Izzy back and our suitcases which were considerable. So yes, we had full of those two cases and a carry on and her little rainbow baby suitcase Which used to be her full-size suitcase two backpacks and One of those guitars.

We we are satisfied Six customers hence the inspiration why we wanted to do this? I think I'll be honest a lot of the claims that I make within that like enterprise rent renting out for Wow Chia The chia pet it's growing within you. I eat three tablespoons of chia seeds every morning and that's probably 300 400,000 seeds You could literally have a chia pet growing in my lungs.
That's what I'm worried about They're one of those seeds lodges in my lungs and and takes root and grows wow Slowly suffocates me kind of like a horror film where I'm laying in bed next to you and one day you like cough and maybe like When you cough like a like a vine or something comes shooting out of your throat and you start pulling on the brain exactly And then I'm like oh my god anyway, so it's a blue possibly has a chia pet growing in his body besides that Yeah, six sent me a letter very soon after we got back from LA. We've only been home for a few days people Okay, I'm still jet lag this letter came thanking me For my loyalty they are trying to destroy the the rental car Thing here the states by bringing their flashy cars for kind of reason They're kind of doing reasonable prices. I need more stuff So we get there and we're you know in line at the sixth rental place whatever I'm talking to the guy and he's shaking his head He's like oh that car that Ford Focus is not available.
We don't have any and I'm like okay But I pre-paid for it and I paid for literally the cheapest car available this weekend because I don't I don't need much I'm driving to my parents house. I'm going nowhere else and then I will be turning around in three days and coming right back There's nothing nothing exciting is happening Well, he took that and he was like you know what you need. I don't know a BMW So this nice fellow gave me a free upgrade because I just didn't have my cheap Ford Focus And he was like you're gonna ride in style all the way up to Turtle Lake Lady And you're gonna ride all the way back in style and I did and I was like thank you. Thank you very much So that's my sixth story so we met at the sixth rental Okay, so yes, we all came to get a Hendrix Yeah, you me and then we got on the on the shuttle.
Oh my god that shuttle was packed absolutely packed shuttle Uh-huh to our to the Delta terminal Delta and you lost it you lost this umbrella Oh my god, I'm so much stuff all piled in on the luggage racks you guys we were like hoarding the the the poor luggage rack I mean this was a full shuttle like a totally like seeping oozing overflowing shuttle Okay, and our luggage took up so much of the luggage rack And I also had a really nice $40 umbrella that I bought at Descanso Gardens and it did not fit in any my luggage So I was like what the fuck do I do with this umbrella and you're like just bring it on the plane, baby So I had this umbrella as well The umbrella didn't make it folks. I forgot it. I put it above the suitcases and I said I'm glad I'm seeing myself put this above the suitcases I am not gonna forget about it and the five minute journey to the terminal and I did it right out of my brain in that five minutes Yeah, jostling around in this absolutely full shuttle van. Yeah trying to remember like, okay I got to tip this guy right and then did we forget to tip him?
I tipped him. Oh you did tip I forgot to tip a few shuttle drivers on this trip and Hendrix gave me a relentlessly gamey shit about it So I wanted to remember to to be a good example to my son and tip and you of course because you always know the right thing to do Well, I always write I'm always handing you cash on my tip tip Anyway, I'm always like I'm them. Why do I have to hand him money because I'm the man No, I just a vestige is this some sort of crumbling. I'll tell you why because I'm hustling off the shuttle after the young child That's right.

I'm in possession of it So I've got the power of which means we have to spend in the special agent line We don't do the little kiosk when you have this credit card you stand in the special agent line because you get your check bags free Yeah, it's actually a considerable savings. It's a it's a safe close to a thousand dollars. Yeah Yeah, I mean that's no exaggeration. I am pretty exaggeration.
I'm telling you it really piles up so to speak Yeah, I mean our luggage and the fees and the fees like oh my god I know a lot about these fees. I've seen a lot of I've seen things. Oh my god fees. I've seen them compound expand Oh, right?
We had to pay for one back but we had to we had to stand in this crazy line because it was like people the line was truly The line was wasn't really that long but it was slow and it was all of the people that were taking animals onto the planes So that special agent assist line shares not only the people with a special credit card it shares the animal line We are one we are one in the same so it's us and the animal people didn't know that till we got in the line clutching their service animals Looking nervously like people don't want to lie. These weren't service animals They were I saw one that was that literally service animal one was a service animal This is simply just where you travel if you travel with an animal at all There was only one service animal, but let me tell you guys it was a circus not a circus It was a zoo sir. They do they used to anyway the whole line itself was retro. It was like such a throwback Oh, yeah, it was long everybody was like kind of big cheeky.
So cranky. I haven't seen that kind of crankiness for a while But we're not I travel all the time. I I do I don't I don't complain about traveling that much because I've seen things I've lost bags over the 30 years that I've traveled. I think things have gotten remarkably better Yes, you have so I don't care what people have to say about it and how much people complain it's gotten better Mm-hmm doesn't mean it's great doesn't mean you're not gonna have some really bad days and some long-ass lines anyway That was a long line.
It was truly a long line actually it was legitimately moving so so so People had like four animals. Yes, and one guy had a dog that was so huge and the kennel It this was a dog that had to go underneath, but um, I don't know what happened But that was like what's the word a cluster cluster? Fucker it was a cluster fuck it truly was the woman looked absolutely frazzled who was helping him the guy seemed not frazzled But sort of like over it and then the dog was just massive and did you see how the big muzzle? I did not see the dog.
Oh my god. It was huge and it had a muzzle I'm barking from the pressurized baggage cabin on a flight. Oh, it's here this muffled like No, that's that's a that can make you feel more anxious on a flight as a hearing the sound of an animal Oh suffering you know below you I know I worry about those animals I was worrying about these animals. It's not my job, but I was worrying okay, and people were really mad and as we were nearing the end of this Ridiculously long line this we're doing great by the way Yeah, we got a he was doing great really actually thank God I had gum in my backpack because that saved her because she was dying of Star-Vate or not starvation thirst she wanted the thirst But of course we didn't have the water because you can't have the water you're gonna be going through security soon where you can't have water So I handed her gum and it worked.
Okay. I don't think that was gonna work. It worked. Thank God So we're nearing the end of this very long line and you know the tunnel right it started you're starting to see the light You're like okay, we're almost there and then this guy and this woman Not that far behind us.
Okay, they had a dog not a service dog just their dog It was like I can't I swear to God I think her name was Shelley so this guy so he literally raises like a hand in the air and he shouts to like the world You know like hey into the air into the air like this is this is unacceptable We have been waiting to like we're gonna miss our flight like being a real dick Okay, I'm going hey, hey gate agents. Yeah gate agents. Hey gate agents And then he says something like if you even care people are gonna miss their flight and I mean capital D CK and then he was like and then his wife and he's like I know Shelley. Yeah, so I remember Well, I'm just like Shelley.
I'm just trying to yeah, or the dog was Shelley. Oh, I don't know anyway someone's Shelley I think it was a dog But in his wife was like for God's sake like don't say anything and because you know She's just quietly dealing with the bullshit like the rest of us you do this poor guy Maybe his flight is leaving half an hour. Okay, because we got a whole other line to wait And this is this is the right. I haven't even hit security people This is just to check your down bags and to get your boarding pass and so yeah I was like oh, okay Maybe he's like maybe his flights boarding right now or I don't know But that's still wicked inappropriate what a jerk and like he acted just like so huffy and I'm like oh Oh, I haven't seen that in a while and that was really gross So I was like that guy sucks But anyway, we get through it was worth it because it saved us so much money and we got our shit like taken from us right there too The guitars the car seat everything that was great usually you have to carry a guitar I'm like yeah, I'm just special spot exactly like with guitars and stuff all the heavy stuff They're like okay Well, we're not touching this now you need to take it and then they just you're down to the end of the terminal Yeah, and then you have special spot.
Yeah, you have to take all your crap down there yourself and hand it to somebody down there Exactly. We have a lot as travelers. I will say over the years. We have more to do now truly traveling We have to do a lot of jobs.
We have to do a lot of jobs. We have to undress We have to take stuff out of our bags. Yeah to carry our bags to the oversize Separating of so many things and I'm jobs. It's a lot of jobs And I will say this I I am intimately aware of life pre and post 9-11 because I worked at the airport everyone I worked at the Minneapolis St.
Paul International Airport at a really fucking busy place at a coffee shop And I experienced day-to-day life of having to go through security pre 9-11 I'm not gonna lie. It was pretty easy breezy. It really was and you know, I think it was easier on them as well When the people that worked at the airport exactly but okay, so Where were we we checked our bags? Oh, yeah, it's quite quick.
Yes. Security line was mercifully merciful Absolutely short and then right we come out of baggage claim and BAM. I saw Andy Anderson. Oh my god, right?
This is correct. I mean, I mean in my world very famous skater guy. Yes kid. He's an amazing skater He skates like you said skates like a ballerina.
This guy is so talented. Yeah, I am like I've been kind of actually obsessed with him Like he is really a figure for me. Yeah, so I'm like important to you during the pandemic You spend a lot of time watching him watching this kid like dance on his skateboard and do these incredibly strong tricks Because he can do all of the other stuff. You know, he can do all the dramatic, you know, you know moves But what sets him apart is his grace exactly and his creativity because he also has videos of him like, you know He's playing random piano and he makes beautiful videos with I mean very artistic videos.
Anyway, Andy Anderson. He's graceful, okay And you maybe like go say hi to him. I'm like, oh god I don't I mean my brain and I only said that because you told me who that was I would have just kept walking I didn't know but you literally kind of started shaking your look Oh my god, that's interesting because hands were shaking people and I Actually can't even remember a time when you've seen someone and you started shaking and you again well traveled Hey, I was in a store once I was in a store once alone with Angelina and Brad and their brood me and then that was it I didn't shake. Yeah, no shaky and I didn't go say hi either, right?
He probably didn't care. You're like, okay, I didn't care right? Yeah, I saw Keith Urban and what's her face walking down the middle of a cool kid man walking down the middle of a Whatever, yes, I've seen I've seen so I'm different this was like Andy and you made me go up and say hi to him I did and he was super sweet. He's like a 26 year old indie rock fan I'm like it was a great.

He starts flipping through his spotify like this one in a jar. You had your picture taken with him. It was super fucking exciting.
All right, great great moment We get to the gate. Okay, everyone starts trickling in for our flight our flight is now delayed by the way as well It's delayed obviously we've had to change planes and we've took it across the tarmac get right to the bird So then we're settling our asses down in some seats because we've got about another hour before we're gonna go anywhere There's no rush. Okay. Just remember that.

Okay, so then Andrix who's currently smarting over the fact that he didn't get a picture with Andy Anderson and we're like feeling very shamed Is parents like oh god damn it. Okay, but it's like that was picture taken so we didn't immediately go get your picture Whatever he's been now sees this guy in our gate Who's like kind of gesturing wildly and like you know has this fucking bird? He's got a bird Okay on his arm and then you like hands into this woman and she's standing there with this guy And he's and then he's then taking picture of them with the bird kind of an ordinary looking parrot And also I'd like to know we haven't talked about this it kind of looks fucked up.
It looked like it had you know It kind of looked like a really poochy parrot and I my ex father-in-law had a poochy parrot I mean they were like there's patches missing from their feathers and like in this one's it's neck was all Was it just gonna say what happened to the neck of that thing? It was not a healthy yeah healthy looking parrot Yeah, it didn't matter because people were like flocking around this guy like he was a fucking slut like he was Andy Anderson Correct. He he was it was almost like a magician pulled a fucking dove out of his hat He was like everyone I have a bird and and Hendrix was like he has a bird I need to go off a picture taken with him and we're like you do I why is this a special bird? I don't know it was not a cockatoo those those are like I mean I actually followed someone through the streets of New York once while he had a cockatoo perched on his index finger He was later on indicted and imprisoned Wow terrible terrible person.
He was walking into traffic with a cockatoo on his finger. That's what he did. He was cockatoo Yeah, but so just cuz you have a bird like I kind of yeah, I feel like it makes me a little suspect Yeah, yeah, you're right this guy was like yeah you and your bird this guy Right this people were flocking around and Hendrix Hendrix went up and got his picture taken with him And he said tell them what I think he said that this was like the most magnificent moment of my life Yeah, I was like that that that was it and sure not there's there's pictures of Hendricks with this this fucking ragged bird I don't know listen everyone I don't make the real because kids and pictures and social media so to settle down the trust us the picture exists, okay? It's real well, okay, but yes the bird was kind of fucked up looking I was like did I have a chain is it being choked right around?
I couldn't figure it out But what is he doing to that bird? Well, then we got the scoop from Hendricks because I was like what's the deal? Is this a special bird and he's like no it's just literally this guy decided to have a bird and he's just wanting to share it with people okay? So as Hendricks is telling me the story Right in my little row, okay where I'm sitting my butt down me and Izzy and whatever we're hanging out a couple walks up everybody to join Our gate with their animal.
Can you guess who that couple is? Shelly The man who's fist went in the air who said gate gate agents. We shall miss our flight You know what I liked when he did that in line in his agitation I love the way he did gesture He almost did it as if we were all going to join yeah in mass Exactly rise up we can start oppressors with him and the look of like total disinterest that was around this guy was I was so great I'm like, you know what I like humanity. I like humanity airports traveling actually does it brings out the worst in people But also it brings out what I kind of feels the best about people which is you know You can just kind of sit through the bullshit.
We can just sit there all together and go like hey Our planes been delayed another four hours and generally nobody starts screaming. Yep. Sometimes they do Yep, and I think also you're right and it's sort of like there was this collective like They called bullshit. They're like no, no, no, sorry guy.
We're not even looked at him They were like we're not in touching your total ridiculous behavior right now and that was that was a beautiful moment to witness So then the man the gesturing man was Shelly the dog who I kid you not I literally saw him like French kissing this dog He loves this dog so much. He put his mouth and I listen, okay I love animals too, and when I had to go above I kissed them plenty, but was it like a tongue on tongue? No, okay He really really felt really strongly about showing everyone how much he loved his dog so But I felt really like smug and like I was just sort of like laughing So I'm like you asshole of course you're on this flight. You are not late We were on the same damn flight that's delayed and you are in no loss of like losing your flight at all But it was a really like it was interesting mix.
It was like men and their pets who really want attention Well, I think that we have to I have to wrap it up guys.
