Leaving Religion 2: Trusting Jesus in the Wilderness (Heb 3-4) - Audio

from Tree of Life · host Brandon McCulloch

“Leaving Religion” is a call to adventure. As humans, we labor to erect sturdy, safe cathedrals to protect our lives. We want easy, affordable religion. Something that doesn’t demand too much of us. When Rome’s emperor Nero turned against Christians, Jewish believers found an easy solution: Judaism. As a religion recognized by Rome, joining the synagogue offered safety. But worship, vocation, and God cannot be squeezed into our safe cathedrals. So Hebrews calls these believers (and us!) into an adventure—something costly, but transformative. To journey the long, difficult road of faith. Engaging Jesus’ life means departing from religion’s cathedral.
