Led Zeppelin, pintada en EE.UU.

En el programa de hoy hablamos de una circunstancia única en le historia de rock : el sexto álbum de estudio de la banda británica Led Zeppelin, Physical Graffiti. Fue publicado el 24 de febrero de 1975, siendo la primera publicación del grupo con su propio sello, denominado Swan Song Records. Las sesiones de grabación se habían visto interrumpidas cuando el bajista y teclista John Paul Jones propuso abandonar la banda, supuestamente para convertirse en director del coro de la catedral de Winchester (Inglaterra), aunque en realidad sólo necesitaba tiempo para descansar tras el exigente calendario de giras de Zeppelin. El grupo se decidió por un álbum doble para poder incluir las canciones sobrantes de sus anteriores discos Led Zeppelin III, Led Zeppelin IV y Houses Of The Holy. El álbum se mantuvo seis semanas en el número 1 de la lista de álbumes de Estados Unidos, vendiendo un millón de copias en su primer día y, en marzo de ese mismo año, Led Zeppelin vería sus seis álbumes en la lista de los 100 mejores de Estados Unidos en la misma semana.
