We are kicking off "Writers Week" here on the Left of Str8 Show, with 4 authors whose unique voices have contributed to our LGBTQ experience. Two of the authors have new works being released this month, one's work is being turned into a new Netflix series, and our fourth is a profile of a book series I am finding very interesting in the Horror/Supernatural Genre. First Up is an interview with my new friend Kyle Turner, whose new book "The Queer Film Guide: 100 Great Movies That Tell LGBTQ+ Stories" debuts this week on May 16. I had a great conversation with Kyle, who has written for some amazing publications such as GQ, The New York Times, Paste and Filmmakers Magazines and many more. We talked about his career and writing style and of course this great new book. The Queer Film Guide offers 100 great films over a 100 year time span and gives additional recommendations for 100 more. The choices are bold, some daring, some thought provoking, and most just amazing cinema. The art illustrations for the book are amazing and were created by Australian artist Andy Warren.
