Legacy - Proverbs 13:22 | CLCFTL
from Christian Life Center - FTL Hosted by Tom Manning
Legacy. Paul looked at Timothy and saw something that started long before Timothy was born. 2 Timothy 1:5 says, "I am reminded of your sincere faith, a faith that dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice and now, I am sure, dwells in you as well." Timothy's faith wasn't accidental—it was inherited. Passed down through a grandmother, a mother, and a mentor. And now it lived in him. If you've ever wondered whether your faith matters beyond your own life, this message will show you that a godly legacy outlives you and shapes generations you'll never meet. Legacy isn't built in a moment—it's built in the ordinary, daily decisions to stay faithful, pray consistently, and live what you believe. Lois and Eunice didn't have platforms or titles. They had faithful lives and a child who was watching. And what they poured into Timothy shaped one of the most significant leaders in the early church. 2 Timothy 1:6-7 says Paul reminded Timothy to "fan into flame the gift of God" because "God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control." The legacy you received is meant to be fanned into flame and passed on. 📖 Main Scripture: 2 Timothy 1:1-7Supporting: Psalm 78:4-7, Deuteronomy 6:6-9, Proverbs 22:6, 1 Corinthians 11:1, 3 John 1:4 💡 Key Takeaways:→ Godly legacy is built in ordinary faithfulness—not platforms or titles (2 Timothy 1:5)→ Your faith is meant to be passed on to the next generation (2 Timothy 1:5)→ The legacy you received carries responsibility—fan it into flame (2 Timothy 1:6)→ God gave you a spirit of power, love, and self-control to build with (2 Timothy 1:7) 📌 This is Week 4 of our series showing us that when God writes your story, He's writing beyond you—into the lives of those who come after you. If you've been living like your faith only affects you—like your choices, your consistency, your walk with God only matters for your own life—this message is for you. Lois and Eunice weren't famous. They weren't in leadership. They were faithful. And their faithfulness shaped Timothy, who shaped the early church, who shaped history. Your life is writing a legacy right now. The question isn't whether you'll leave one—it's what kind it will be. 🤝 Support this ministry: https://clcftl.org/give🖥 Join a Life Group: https://clcftl.org/lifegroupsConnect With Us:Website: https://clcftl.orgInstagram: https://instagram.com/clcftlFacebook: https://facebook.com/clcftl#christianmessage #legacy #2timothy1 #faiththatlivesonyou #godwritesyourstory
