In March, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence signed the controversial religious freedom bill into law, claiming that it will prevent the government from forcing business owners to act in ways contrary to their religious beliefs. Opponents, however, argue that the bill opens the door to discrimination against the LGBT community by giving business owners legal protection to deny services to same-sex couples.We addressed the widespread backlash against the law, which has proposed to be implemented in other states, the history behind religious freedom laws, and whether religions should have a right to discriminate against others.
