Legionnaires Outbreak, Public Safety Expansion Announcement, Fleet Week Spotlight

The legionnaire’s disease cluster on the upper east side has grown to 36 cases. NYCDOH has said people that have visited the area recently and are experiencing flu-like symptoms should contact a healthcare provider immediately. WFUV’s Mia Barth explains more. Governor Kathy Hochul said she’s expanding emergency communications systems, public safety call-taking, and dispatching. Reportedly, 110 million dollars in state funding will go towards these improvements. WFUV’s Giuliana Guarracino has more.
