Will independent truck drivers soon be forced to leave Pennsylvania? It's a concern on the minds of many truckers. NewsRadio KDKA's Pat Septak explains: [The state of California currently has laws on the books that would require those in the trucking industry to essentially drive more expensive trucks in that state because of the lower emissions. Lewie Pugh [Pew] - the Executive Vice President of the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association - tells The Rick Dayton Show that if similar legislation passes here in Pennsylvania, the financial considerations could force many truckers to leave the state: He says it's not that truckers aren't for clean air.
