Legislative Update with Curtis Haring
from Utah AF Hosted by Jake & Jill
WAIT DON'T SKIP, THIS IS FUN! REALLY! if you're like me, you "nope out" when you hear the word "politics." However, Curtis gives bite-sized updates and opinions on the current Utah State legislative session. - Hear how Joe Biden is about to make history this week (or more like avoid making history) - Naming your favorite president is so cliche. Who's your 3rd favorite president? - Jake and Jill speculate on the cause of Covid-19 cases dropping, which is really them making s&#* up. - Jake and Curtis explain what they would do if they had sole discretion to spend $1B of the Utah state budget (Jake's idea is way better). - Jake confesses about his dirty past as a double-tracker. - Curtis presents some of the headline-making bills in the legislature: * The consumer products porn ban (dum dum dum) * The transgender athlete ban * The requirement for police officers to write a report when they draw their gun * Raising registration fees on electric vehicles * Removing concealed firearms permits * The committee to create a new Utah state flag (smart smart smart) Remember, you can always go to le.utah.gov to check on these bills yourself and to learn who your representatives are.
