最近有個新聞事件，一個9歲女孩眼睛不適，眼科醫師開類固醇眼藥水讓她使用，點了2年之後左眼失明。為什麼眼藥水裡要加類固醇呢？其實，類固醇有抗發炎、免疫抑制、抗細胞增生等效果，類固醇眼藥水常用在治療過敏、結膜炎、虹彩炎等病症上。 而眼部手術之後，有些患者的發炎情況比較嚴重，或是怕傷口結疤引起二次發炎，類固醇眼藥水也會合併抗生素使用，來抑制過度發炎。
