Leitrim Councillor accuses Local TD’s for being weak in opposition to importation of fracked gas

A Leitrim Councillor has launched a blistering attack on Local TD's for supporting the Government's decision to proceed with plans to build a liquefied natural gas terminal at Shannon.  Leitrim Independent Councillor Eddie Mitchell has been raising concerns over fracked gas for a number of years. He says the move could open the door for the practice of fracking to be introduced on this island something that would have disastrous consequences for the North West Region. He's called on the TD's in the Sligo Leitrim to hold the government to account
