Leitrim Councillor highlights further examples of regional imbalance in transport network

A Leitrim Councillor says the recent announcement that there is to be further significant investment in the Belfast to Dublin rail infrastructure will infuriate north west commuters further who still can't buy a cup of tea or coffee on the Sligo to Dublin service. The comments from Cllr Padraig Fallon come as The Belfast to Dublin train fleet is being upgraded with a new fleet of Enterprise trains. New Electric-Diesel trains will replace the current fleet of locomotive hauled stock operating on the route.  The Sinn Fein Councillor says once again it shows the lack of balanced regional development when it comes to rail infrastructure in this country.
