Leitrim woman waited in ambulance outside SUH for six hours

It's emerged that a Leitrim woman had to wait in an ambulance outside Sligo University Hospital for six hours due to overcrowding.The incident which happened in recent weeks left the south Leitrim area without ambulance cover during that time frame.It was also claimed that ambulance personnel in Sligo were recently redirected from Sligo University Hospital with non-urgent cases due to chronic overcrowding.The local issues were raised during a Dail debate on the Health insurance amendment Bill by Sligo Leitrim Sinn Fein TD Martin Kenny.He says it's clear that a huge level of work needs to be done to provide the service that people require:
