Lend an ear for better mental health with Saira-Ellen from www.ariasdesignco.com (Episode 10)

from Beautiful minds with Cath · host Catherine Sanvictores

It's incredibly important to continue in normalising mental health conversations with our family, friends, colleagues, the community around us and checking up on each other and asking that important question. Are you ok? In this episode we chat about Saira's story and journey on her why behind her business, grief and mental health recovery, boundaries, social connections in light of healing from grief and more in an authentic, safe and relaxed space. I'm so happy to be able to hold space for this conversation with Saira from Arias Design Co who founded her beautiful business of handmade polymer clay earrings jewellery in memory of her beloved brother Sami. Her business is very much about raising funds to make a positive impact in the mental health space through workshops 'Lend an ear for better mental health' and contribute to the Mental Health Foundation in NZ through the sales of her earrings. Saira also raises funds for different needs around her including funds raised for Voices For Children, a Ukrainian based organisation that ordinarily helps provide psychological support to children who have suffered due to the war. Her jewellery pieces are inspired by nature and her latest collection Kaleydo is inspired by the ocean. Other collections - florals and flowers, boutique and boho. Arias design believes in slow fashion and is all about small batch. Ethical and hand made here in New Zealand. I'm so happy to have met Saira and hear her story and get to know a little of the beautiful person she is and her amazing jewellery creations that have come through her hands! Her website is www.ariasdesignco.com
