La transition écologie et l’engagement citoyenLa transition écologique, solidaire ou dite « juste » ne concerne pas seulement la protection de l’environnement. En effet, c’est aussi une question de justice sociale. Elle touche directement à nos conditions de vie,notamment pour les populations les plus vulnérables. On parle d’éducation populaire ! Pour réussir il ne suffit pas que les gouvernements ou les experts prennent les décisions seuls. Les citoyens doivent être impliqués dans la compréhension et la co-construction des solutions. En clair, une transition écologique ne s’impose pas de façon descendante comme un programme technique. Cela se joue au niveau local avec les citoyens au coeur du processus. Chacun doit se reconnaitre dans les actions et s’engager pour leur réussite.Les freins à la transitionLes connaissances liées à la transition écologique sont souvent techniques, scientifiques et inégalement partagées. Cela décourage une partie des personnes. L’engagement citoyen permet aux gens de reprendre leur pouvoir d’action et de devenir des citoyens responsables. C’est une façon de ne plus être spectateur mais de devenir acteur.L’engagement citoyen peut prendre de multiples formes.On peut participer à des réunions publiques, rejoindre un comité de quartier ou s’impliquer dans des projets de budget participatif.Beaucoup de communes de la Région Sud proposent ces dispositifs. Il y a aussi des initiatives simples comme s’engager dans une association, participer à des ateliers de sensibilisation ou encore des actions de nettoyage. Cela existe aussi en Principauté de Monaco.L’engagement citoyen est avant tout un geste collectif, une volonté de s’impliquer pour le bien commun.
