Les Fugitifs (1986) & Three Fugitives (1989) — "Don't go!"
from The Kulturecast Hosted by Weirding Way Media
Same story, two languages, one director. We wrap up Mike White May, this year all about Francis Veber's films and their remakes, with Les Fugitifs, starring Gérard Depardieu and Pierre Richard, and Veber's own Hollywood remake, Three Fugitives, his first film with Martin Short but definitely not the last. Both follow a reformed bank robber who, on his first day out of prison, is taken hostage in a bungled robbery and ends up trying to sort out his own life and the robber's too. We talk Martin Short (again), Nick Nolte, and the films' respective child actors. Mike White of The Projection Booth and Richard Hatem of Richard Hatem's Paranormal Bookshelf join Chris Stachiw, the Doctor of Podcasting, to talk Francis Veber, Martin Short, Nick Nolte, and so much more.
