In which the spring winds of Paris bring with them the chill of both the weather and society’s harshness, as little Gavroche—a spirited street urchin—finds warmth and shelter in an abandoned symbol of power, taking two younger children under his care and sharing with them his refuge within the cavernous carcass of the Elephant of the Bastille.
