Lesotho Elections

Lesotho’s King Letsie III has set June 3 as the date for the general election after Parliament was dissolved. Lesotho’s Prime Minister Pakalitha Mosisili said there was deepening political uncertainty in the southern Africa kingdom. Mosisili said the Democratic Congress (DC) who lost a no-confidence vote in parliament early this month has headed a coalition government since the ouster of former Prime Minister Thomas Thabane’s All Basotho Congress (ABC) two years ago. Meanwhile the law makers voted in favor of replacing Mosisili with Monyane Moleleki whose Alliance of Democrats party split from the Democratic Congress last year.
