Lesotho government bars wool and mohair producers from exporting

from AM Live on SAfm · host SABC News and Current Affairs

SAfm — The government of Lesotho is adamant that it wants to protect the country's economy by introducing legislation that forces the producers of wool and mohair to sell to one broker who happens to be Chinese. The producers have been selling their wool and mohair to brokers in South Africa including BKB at the Port Elizabeth Wool Exhange in the Eastern Cape. But now there are government legislated regulations that ban individuals from exporting their own produce. Krivani Pillay spoke to a representative of the Lesotho Wool and Mohair Growers Association Rantelali Shea.
