Lesson 3: Joel

In this lesson, we survey the book of Joel. The book of Joel teaches us that the day of the Lord is near. Using a plague of locust, that had come upon the land, the Lord, through his prophet Joel, calls his people to return to him. If they will not return, a greater judgment will come. Joel holds out hope for the people who will return. YHWH is gracious and merciful and abounding in steadfast love. Though the Lord judges, the Day of the Lord is also a day of salvation and deliverance for his people.
