FOCUS: In a quest for wealth, Zacchaeus made lifestyle choices that brought alienation, hatred and several other severe consequences, but he saw the emptiness of all this when he found himself up a tree and encountering Jesus, who called him to different priorities so he would become a giver rather than a getter. FUNCTION: We will be moved to consider the role money plays in our daily choices and called to repent to a new lifestyle with new priorities if we have fallen into the trap Zacchaeus fell into.
