Lessons from Big D with Gillea Allison

I had the pleasure to chopping it up with my friend, the President of D Partners, Gillea Allison this afternoon. She is a media executive, a master marketer and a changemaker. I grew up in Dallas and recall seeing her flagship magazine on the racks in line at the grocery store. Was this really my Dallas? Well, within the last three years, Gillea and her team have transformed D Magazine and all of its brands across platforms to reflect a truer picture of my city. They did it in the digital age...in fact, the pivot to move all their live events online during Covid-19 was a feat that Gillea was born for. You see, she spent some of her career doing digital and social media on a team that changed the way we all do social media today... she worked for the Obama campaign. We also talk about what working moms face during this season of uncertainly, and how important it is for women and women of color to lead these conversations and companies through this time of unprecedented change.
