Lessons from Leaders: Featured Guest Maddy DeLone, former Executive Director of the Innocence Project

Maddy DeLone, former Executive Director of the Innocence Project,  talks about advice she gives other leaders  during the pandemic.  Maddy notes that when it seems that everything about this pandemic is new we remember that we have seen all these problems before: financial issues, board challenges, staffing issues.  During our conversation, Maddy brilliantly reminds leaders that they have lead through these types of challenges and that they can trust themselves to lead through this too.Maddy also reflects on what she know now that she wishes she knew when she was new in her position.  One of the key things is trusting yourself more.  Trusting your gut and your own instincts about the right way to do and decisions to make.  "The questions that you think are hard are hard questions.  You think they are hard because they are hard," she says.
