INSPIRE Devotionals With Emmanuel Afiawari Tuesday, April 8, 2025 Topic: LESSONS FROM THE PRODIGAL SON (Part 6)! Memory Verse: ‭‭"He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: But a companion of fools shall be destroyed" - Proverbs 13:20 KJV Bible Text:  ‭‭‭‭‭ Luke 15:14-15 KJV 14. And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want. 15. And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine. INSPIRATION: Anyone who fails to plan or factor in eventualities, would always make any challenge look like an insurmountable mountain. Someone with proper planning shouldn't be hit so hard by famine owing to the amount of wealth he go as inheritance. Alas! The reverse was his case. Then he joins a wrong company. Value define your association. A companion of fools will be destroyed. The company he kept saw to his early bankrupcy - a total destruction of his identity, purpose, vision and goals. A wrong company will make you second-guess yourself. Some company may fertilizer your dreams, acting as catalysts to midwife a process of great success; others may help you find or discover potentials and possibilities you've never considered or used; yet another set are dream killers, success annihilators and vision destroyers - they kill your budding dreams before you set sail - this latter type was the company the Prodigal Son kept. Who are the people in your corner when life hits you hard? Who are your mentors, motivators or counselors? How wise and sound are your associates? Think on this! Whilst it may be complimentary and highly commendable to you engaged in money-making ventures, be cautiously weary of settling for less. Whilst not despising your humble beginnings, never make a permanent stop to something that should be your temporary pass to a noble goal you're chasing. Elevate your thinking, taste and vision. Have the big picture in view and refuse to settle as a mediocre. Do not compromise standards as a survivor's strategy. It would backfire, unless you're cool with eating pig's food. Be advised! TODAY'S TAKE HOME: Have high tastes but ensure your choices and decisions are governed by principles and values that align with God's standards. Be bold to reject anything on the contrary. PRAYER: Dear Lord, please deliver me from making the wrong turn in life, whether in business, career, investments, relationship or ministry. Deliver me from the arrogance of improper planning before execution of any project and help me not to lose my true identity in pursuit of vainglory, in Jesus name.
