Let Her Play! Let Her Play!

On Saturday’s “Razor Wire,” Fitz and McShane return from a week off with travel stories from Indiana—training educators (including a Mennonite preschool), discovering the Mennonite/Amish split, raving about The Chubby Trout’s diverse crowd, and accidentally walking into a Micro Wrestling Federation night while trying to discuss psychological profiles. The show then pivots to Anthony Fauci pleading the Fifth 111 times despite having a Biden pardon, including refusing even basic questions, and the hosts argue it reopens COVID wounds, mirrors his AIDS-era playbook, and may be a political distraction. Fitz declares for the WNBA draft. They tear into the WNBA’s controversy over protecting women’s sports after Sophie Cunningham’s comments, criticize coaching rhetoric about inclusion, and highlight responses from Enes Kanter Freedom and Royce White declaring for the WNBA to expose perceived policy contradictions; Bob Costas is cited arguing “common sense is not transphobic.” Beer talk runs throughout, featuring Epic Brewing’s Big Bad Baptist stouts (Gingerbread and Orange Twist) and Zul Beer Company’s Betty’s Blueberry Peach Cobbler sour. Jefe drops in live from casino work with pit-floor drama, then delivers a “farm report” on Australia’s newly found “ballista spider,” which builds a spring-loaded silk trap that launches ants into its web. The episode closes with reactions to scientists proposing halving the global population by 2200, AI-designed viruses that kill E. coli, a far-future scheme to move Earth away from the sun, and a “Ball Scratch Simulator” game preview.
