Let's Be Real - Mama Journeys - Episode 82 W/Samantha Opperman

Samantha and I have a long history and it was such a joy to chat with her. She was a flower girl in our wedding way back in 1995! Samantha was 26 when she had number one and after having number one, number two was a whole different story and it was hard letting go of not having control over the unknown. The mom guilt for number one was really hard to navigate as well. Her biggest supporter was her mama (who happens to be my BFF!).  She loved hearing from her that she is doing a good job! As a mama of a 7 and 4 year old, her favorite part of being a mom is when they want HER to put them to bed and spend time with them. To feel loved and accepted by your kids is really the best part of being a mom. She wishes she would have started a journal of the things her kids have said. She wishes she would have known that pretty much everything you hear about being a mom like "it gets easier" is all a bunch of bullshit. Absorb where you are right now and live in the moment as much as possible. Everything is going to change, for the good or the bad within probably minutes so just go with it.
