ASP is a national biomedical and health care network with membership open to all health care professionals. Our mission is to rapidly and dramatically reduce the high rate of suffering and mortality due to adverse drug events in the US. We represent the unity of different areas of expertise coming together to have a bigger impact on addressing the fourth leading cause of death in the US.   Bio: Sara Rogers, PharmD, BCPS, is a pharmacist, researcher and nonprofit director. As a proponent of personalized medicine and preventing harm from medication use, she co-founded the American Society of Pharmacovigilance in 2018. Since there is a strong genetic component in the way that patients respond to medications, she has taken an active role in addressing barriers to widespread implementation of pharmacogenomics. Dr. Rogers is a member of the Clinical Pharmacogenetics Implementation Consortium, Chairman of the Pharmacogenomics Access and Reimbursement Coalition, and an organizational member of the NIH National Human Genomics Research Institute (NHGRI) Inter-Society Coordinating Committee. She hopes these efforts will lead to improved health outcomes for patients across the US, regardless of socioeconomic status.
