Originally from Baltimore, Dr. Canner studied in the rural northeast before practicing for several years in Montana. They moved to New Zealand about 10 years ago and have worked in rural, underserved and urban settings. Dr. Canner describes themselves as an Advocate for health equity, accessibility and LGBTQIA+ equality and well-being and we discuss the intersection of queerness and gender diversity. Our conversation includes their personal and professional experiences and how those experiences have shaped initiatives of inclusivity.
