Let's Talk Inappropriate Condolences

This week on Hey Fave the Podcast, we’re unpacking a trend that’s starting to feel a little too common — performative sympathy. 💭 When tragedy hits, are people really showing love… or chasing clout? 👀 We start with Darrin Henson’s post about Bryshere Gray, where instead of reaching out privately, he shared a “warning” to the industry online — sparking comments like, “You could’ve just checked on him in private.” From there, we talk about the fine line between good intentions and bad execution when it comes to public condolences. 💐 Malcolm-Jamal Warner, India Arie, Tracee Ellis Ross, and Charmaine all caught some side-eye for their recent tribute posts — whether it was choice of words, old flirty photos, or just “doing too much.” So we’re asking: 🕊️ When is it genuine love… and when does it turn into a photo-op for attention? 📸 Are “cringey condolences” just harmless, or do they cross a line — especially when someone’s grieving spouse or family is watching? It’s a candid, slightly messy, but necessary conversation about how social media has changed the way we mourn — and the difference between being thoughtful and being seen. #HeyFaveThePodcast #InappropriateCondolences #SocialMediaTalk #CloutChasing #CelebrityCulture #PodcastLife #TrendingTopics Business Spotlight: KRT/QRT Cycling | Kings Rule Together & Queens Rule Together Cycling Founded in 2019; a global community of passionate, active cyclists of all ages, genders and skill levels.
