Let's Talk Nation. Nov. 22
from Let's Talk Nation USA Hosted by Let's Talk Nation USA
In this episode of Let's Talk Nation, hosts Greg and Chris Shaw dive into a heated debate on college football, particularly the overlooked challenges facing Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) in the FCS playoff race. They discuss the impressive season of FAMU (Florida A&M University), who finished 9-2 but were once again shut out of the FCS playoffs, sparking frustrations over the system’s treatment of HBCUs. The conversation gets real as Greg and Chris debate whether HBCUs, including powerhouses like Jackson State and Alabama State, would be able to hold their own against top-tier teams in the SEC, ACC, and Big Ten. While acknowledging the importance of strength of schedule, they also question why teams with multiple losses from larger conferences continue to make the cut while undefeated HBCUs get overlooked. Adding some levity, they throw in a fun comparison between cooking and college football, asking the tough question: can you compete in the big leagues without the proper training and resources? This episode serves up tough truths, bold opinions, and a call to action for change in how we view and support HBCUs in sports. Whether you're a fan of college football or just a lover of spirited debates, this episode is a must-listen!
