from MyFixitUpLife home show · host MyFixitUpLife Mark & Theresa

We try to live healthy and provide a healthy environment for our kids. But, the conveniences of modern living offer so many temptations, and well, it's hard to know if those things that claim to be good for us, really are good for us. Tracy Hutson is a designer and author of the book 'Feathering the Nest,' where she shares ideas for creating kid-spaces that are mentally stimulating, emotionally comforting, and environmentally smart. For several years, Tracy shared her design ideas as part of the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition team, and she shared her passion for turning 'junk' into cool decor on Picker Sisters with Tanya McQueen. Green Builder Media's Ron Jones is recognized as one of the fathers of the green building movement. Instrumental in establishing guidelines and programs through NAHB, USGBC and a variety of regional initiatives, he has more recently worked with the International Code Council in the development of both the National Green Building Standard (ICC 700) and the International Green Construction Code.  Author of the Not So Big House, Sarah Susanka's "Not So Big" message has become a launch pad for a new dimension of understanding—not just about how we inhabit our homes, but also about how we inhabit our planet and even our day-to-day lives. Author of Ecologique - The Style of Sustainable Design, designer Kelly LaPlante is a self-proclaimed dare-devil interior designer, entrepreneur, curator, writer, sustainable design expert and collector of extraordinary people.
