Acomi and Turk182 decide to watch Battlestar Galactica, but don't want to invest the time. So, they choose the next best/worst thing, Space Mutiny (1988). Starring Captain America himself, Reb Brown, and the martial arts master of Kill or Be Killed and Kill, and Kill Again, James Ryan. Described by some as Mutiny on the Bounty in space (no one calls it that), the film is a taut political thriller about a military coup in space. A space coup. A Space Mutiny. What more can be said about a movie whose plot is as thin as the air they're flying around in. If you want to see boxy, low riding, go-carts along with hula hoop dancing, incredibly wide shoulder pads, a man with an unexplained limp, and the cult of Stevie Nicks, then sic semper tyrannis. Join Acomi and Turk as they struggle to understand the plot, and strange future fashions, that await us in the not-too-distant-future. A time when we've left the Earth behind. Along with storytelling, common sense, and quality special effects. And, the only thing we brought with us is mutiny. Acomi and Turk182, along the occasional special guest, provide running commentary of awfulsome movie and TV shows. The hosts select movies that either one, or both, have never seen.
