Letter Two - Smyrna

Join us this Sunday, November 23rd, as we worship the Lord in Spirit and in Truth. We’ll be in Letter Two: The Church at Smyrna—a church Jesus addressed with precision and purpose. Smyrna is one of only two churches in Asia Minor that receives no rebuke from Jesus—only honor, encouragement, and promise.And for us, it’s important to understand why.The words of King Jesus meet them right where they are: a community pressed economically, pressured politically, slandered socially, and living in a city marked by death.Yet Jesus says: “I know your tribulation and your poverty (but you are rich).”It’s a remarkable declaration from the Glorified Christ—followed by this promise:“The one who conquers will not be hurt by the second death.” (Rev. 2:11)
