These believers loved Jesus, and that love brought persecution, poverty, false accusation, and pressure to compromise. Yet the glorified Lord Jesus speaks with divine authority: “I know.” He is the First and the Last, the One who died and came to life again. Through the inerrant Word of God, Jesus commands His Church not to fear, not to bow to false gods, and not to silence the Gospel. Believers must repent of fear, intercede for the persecuted, and stand firm, knowing Christ holds all power and will give the crown of life.
