Letting a Guy Down

from The People’s Court Podcast · host The People’s Court Podcast

The plaintiff says he and the defendant dated for three years. She allegedly owes him money he loaned her for an iPhone, so he’s suing. The defendant claims the plaintiff went off to jail for a few years, and she helped him out during that time. The plaintiff reportedly told the defendant she didn’t have to pay him back because of all the things she did for him while he was out of commission. Besides, the defendant says she never bought an iPhone. Then, the plaintiff believes the defendant double crossed him over a deal for his Ford Focus. He wants his money back, so he’s suing. The defendant insists the plaintiff just gave him the car, and he’s mad because the defendant was able to fix the car and sell it for a profit. The defendant is countersuing for defamation. Plus, the plaintiff claims the defendant rented a room from him, but she hasn’t been paying the rent. Even though there’s a pandemic, the plaintiff says he needs the money, so he’s suing. The defendant argues that she went to visit her sister in a different state. When the pandemic hit, the plaintiff allegedly told the defendant not to come back. Then, a rent freeze was initiated nationwide, so the defendant believes she owes nothing due to the circumstances.  Don’t forget to rate and subscribe so you never miss an episode.
