LETTING GO OF SPIRITUAL LAZINESS!
from The Kingdom Of God First Podcast. · host Tewe Kolade Felix
Scripture: Proverbs 13:4 "The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing, while the soul of the diligent is richly supplied." Spiritual laziness is a subtle enemy. It often begins with small compromises—skipping prayer, neglecting the Word, delaying obedience. Over time, this sluggishness starves the soul. Proverbs reminds us that craving without effort leads to emptiness, while diligence in pursuing God results in fullness and blessing. Diligence in our spiritual walk doesn’t mean striving in our own strength, but it does require intentionality. Just as physical growth demands nourishment and activity, spiritual growth requires consistent time with God, meditating on His Word, and walking in obedience. It’s in these daily choices that our soul becomes richly supplied with wisdom, peace, and strength. God desires to fill us, but He calls us to seek Him wholeheartedly. Letting go of spiritual laziness means saying “yes” to discipline and devotion, trusting that the effort to draw near to Him will never be wasted. Every step of diligence is met with God’s abundant supply. Today, ask yourself: Have I allowed spiritual laziness to hinder my growth? What habits can I commit to that will help me pursue God more diligently? Prayer: Almighty Father, awaken my heart from spiritual slumber. Forgive me for every time I’ve chosen ease over devotion. Fill me with a renewed passion to seek You daily and help me stay diligent in my walk, that I may be richly supplied by Your Spirit. Amen.
