Lever - March 15th, 2018

from Radio One Chicago Hosted by Radio One Chicago

It’s hard to get a hold on what Chicago’s LEVER is going to do next. The four-piece identifies as “bipolar grunge pop.” They grab influences from many different areas of music, from THE VINES to THE BEATLES, and polish it up into their own unique sound. Not too polished, though, grit and distortion still rule on the majority of their songs. These dudes are super hungry and play wherever they can – wrestling matches, flea markets, and, lucky for us, divey bars and music venues. Their debut album, Hover Bored, was released in May 2015. We Are Television said the album “can be enjoyed by the punks and pop enthusiasts alike. With all those hooks, you’re bound to be humming one of their tunes eventually.” Check out their follow up EP, “Ms. Lead” released in 2017. – Empty Bottle & We Are The Television. Radio One Chicago airs live on WLUW, 88.7fm every Thursday night from 6p to 8p.
