On returning from his travels, he was determined to change his life for the better and found a business venture of his own. A leverage lifestyle will mean different things to different people. For some, it’s financial freedom. For others, it’s about balance and family, while for others it might be the freedom to travel or enjoy life at their own pace. It is vitally important to make sure you have a strong team – one of the main issues for those in the property business, and any business for that matter, can be when you are let down by your team and have to pick up the pieces yourself. Having a power team you can trust behind you who can take responsibility for sudden cracks in the business will ensure that your venture can continue with limited issues when problems arise. Separate yourself from the operations gradually. It isn’t beneficial to anyone to drop everything at once. Rob recommends stepping away for one day a week, then two and slowly build up to your freedom. This will allow your power team and operations to acclimatise to their new responsibilities. Focus is extremely important, especially in the beginning. It is all about identifying your values and goals and focusing on your strategy and sticking to it. Catherine’s business’ mission statement is “Empowering people to live the life of their dreams.” This is a purposefully broad statement that allows Catherine to operate in any way she chooses (podcasting, networking), but always with the same aim. By creating the lifestyle of her dreams, Catherine is now able to focus more of her time into her passion, namely sustainability and global concerns. Both Catherine and Rob stress the importance of learning from others, whether that’s a mentor, or even someone you simply admire in business. By learning from the path they’ve walked, we can save ourselves the pain of learning the hard way. You are 100% responsible for everything that happens in your life. This can be terrifying to some, especially to those who prefer to see themselves as a victim. But it’s also a very powerful message that can have an extraordinarily empowering effect on your life. Use it as a spur to kick-start your dream life as soon as possible. BEST MOMENTS ‘Variety is the spice of life!’ ‘Education is key, making sure you do it the right way’  ‘I think if you’re really set on what your mission and values are, then it’ll be a lot clearer’ ‘Our vision is to bring the world to you’ ‘Success can mean whatever you want it to mean’ ‘Create a planet that not only survives, but thrives’ ‘Learn from others’ mistakes.
