Leviticus 12: Biology, Sympathy, & Prophecy

God knows biology better than anybody, for He made everybody. He gives us details about a woman's cycle, a baby's ideal day for circumcision, and the necessity of rest and recovery for a woman who gives birth to a child. God weaves compassion and care in his laws, proving that His desire is not for senseless isolation but careful restoration and purification of our lives, giving us time to become whole. 1,500 years later, Joseph and Mary obeyed Leviticus 12 as they presented the ritual purification offering, which required poor families to offer two turtle doves or two pigeons. Yet among them was Jesus, the perfect lamb of God, the burnt offering that paid for the sins of the world.
