Leviticus 8 The Anointing, Ordination, and Installation of the High Priest: Aaron vs Jesus

I. Aaron’s consecration, anointing, ordination and installation are going to be public in the sight of the congregation of Israel, vv1-4a. II. Aaron and his sons are washed with water, and Aaron is dressed by Moses with the clothing of the high priest, vv4b-9. III. Moses anointed with oil the tabernacle, the altar, the utensils and basin and stand, along with Aaron, vv10-13. IV. Moses offered a sin offering for the priest, vv14-17. V. Moses offered the burnt offering for atonement for Aaron and his sons, vv18-21. VI. Moses offered the ordination sacrifice of a ram. VII. Moses gives instruction to Aaron and his sons, vv31-36.
