LFP #59: We’re Connected by The Groove: Fan-tastic Live DJ Stories and Hip Hop Concert Community Lore

In this episode we share the stories and concert experiences of our fellow concert fan Ted (aka DJ Talk). Ted shares his childhood experiences and journey into live DJing and his hip hop and rap concert experiences in Philadelphia, New Jersey, Virginia and California. We explore the emotional experience created by live DJs and the role of the DJ in controlling and guiding the hearts and minds of the audience. We dive into Ted’s love for exploring different venues, bars, and stages on South Street in Philadelphia, and his passion for obscure places to see shows.
