Des négociations pour un potentiel cessez-le-feu entre Israël et le Liban se sont ouvertes, mardi 14 avril, à Washington (Etats-Unis). Mais comment les délégations israéliennes et libanaises peuvent-elles trouver un terrain d’entente, alors qu’Israël continue de frapper le Liban et que ses objectifs de guerre demeurent flous ? D’autant que l’onde de choc provoquée par le massacre du 8 avril continue de secouer le Liban : cette journée restera un « mercredi noir », tant Israël a bombardé le pays. En dix minutes, une centaine de bombes et de missiles israéliens se sont abattus sur différentes régions, touchant notamment des zones résidentielles. Le bilan est lourd : plus de 2 000 Libanais ont péri dans des frappes israéliennes depuis le 2 mars. Ce jour-là, le Hezbollah a déclaré la guerre à Israël, dont l’armée venait de tuer le Guide suprême iranien, l’allié du mouvement chiite libanais. Israël justifie donc ses frappes par la menace que représente, selon lui, le Hezbollah, au Liban, mais aussi pour sa propre sécurité intérieure. Mais quels sont les objectifs militaires israéliens ? Affaiblir le Hezbollah ou aller jusqu’à annexer son bastion, le Sud-Liban ? Et que faut-il attendre des négociations entre le Liban et Israël entamées mardi 14 avril ?
